Happy Easter everyone! Today we reminisce and celebrate the gracious act that Jesus performed over 2,000 years ago. Giving His precious life, becoming our sin on the cross so that we may all inherit an enteral life with Him in Heaven. Knowing that there would be those who will [never] accept Him, He did not let such truth stop Him from doing what needed to be done for God’s children. 💙 . . As we celebrate, keep in mind that He rose on the 3rd day and is STILL RISEN. Everyday should be celebrated and gratitude should be given unto The Lord of Lords for what He did. His Holy Spirit is ever so present around us every [single] day. Our organization is beyond grateful that He has never left nor forsaken us. Jesus is more faithful than any man on Earth could ever be.✨ . . During the week of Good Friday all the way up to Easter, we have been reading an devotional called “Jesus : Our Banner of Victory” and it’s an awesome daily devotional on the Bible app that reminds us of the magnitude of His act and how His power can be ignited within all of us. We are free from bondage of sin and we all have the free will to walk the rest of our lives in Christ! Yesterday our organization drove around the DFW passing out carekits to panhandlers and the local homeless. 60% of the individuals we came across had signs mentioning that they are U.S. veterans. 😔 In 2018, it was estimated that 30% of the homeless population are military veterans. . . Our government invests around $1.5 BILLION dollars into the military every year. Many US citizens dedicate their lives to serve for our country and leave their loved ones behind...not knowing if they will ever see them again. It’s very unfortunate that most of them come out of service without the basic funds to be able to make an decent living. They‘re all in our prayers!! Today is the last day of #BlackHistoryMonth. 🙌🏾🖤 We wanted to take the last day to list and acknowledge a few black inventors.😃 Each one of these inventions have made an historical impact all over the world! . . It’s truly amazing to see how many products were created during/after, both the civil war, and the reconstruction in America. It takes an incredible amount of strength and effort to rise above the social standard and to invent useful items for centuries to come. 👏🏾 For the board of our organization, it's an reminder of how intelligent, strong, and resilient people of color are. 🙂 Representation matters. The Ascender’s Touch was created on the basis of uplifting others and spreading the word of God. Not only locally, here in Texas, but globally as well! ☺️💙 Over the course of 5 years, we have sponsored two children that live in Tanzania 🇹🇿 through @compassion . Recently we sponsored a 3rd child who resides in Bolivia. 🇧🇴😊✨ Every time we receive a letter from our sponsored brothers and sister, our hearts completely melt!! 🥰 . . It’s a very humbling experience to be able to help a child and their family by donating a small amount each month. Compassion keeps the children’s photos updated, they allow you to send as many letters as you like, and you’re able to send money for birthday gifts + holidays as well. They’ll even send a photo of the sponsored child with the item that was given for that occasion! 😇 This organization is amazing!! All of our sponsored siblings constantly express their gratitude within every letter and we LOVE responding back with encouraging words + prayers🙂💙. . . In the American school system, they do not teach us about real African history. Not only were Africans shipped away from their native homes to America but their unique names, language, and national history were stripped away as well. . Therefore, today we are celebrating #BHM by honoring Queen Nzinga of Angola! She is one of the most celebrated African women to resist European colonization!! ✊🏾👏🏾 Queen Nzinga Mbande led four decades (1620s to 1660s) of warfare against the Portuguese in Angola. She was a proto-nationalist resistance leader and a devout Christian. From the period of Nzinga’s leadership to the present, African women have been at the forefront of resisting militarism, the murderous tendencies of colonial economic relations, and social structures that privileged violence. . Her main quest was to preserve the humanity of African people, which required her to develop a flexible and strategic military identity. . . . Queen Nzinga’s record as a military leader, diplomat, and spiritual leader; goes against the conception of gender identities in African societies. She has a special position in Angolan history and is seen as an important root of African nationalism due to her resistance to colonial rule. We honor her today, as well as, the rest of the African Kings + Queens! ❤️🖤💚

Today we are celebrating #BHM by honoring Ufot Ekong. This extraordinary 28 year old is a Tokyo-based Nigerian student that achieved a great feat by breaking a 50-year-old mathematical record, at Tokai University in Japan. 😆This math puzzle remained unsolved for 30 years straight until he arrived for his first semester. . . Throughout his university career, Ufot is said to have won six awards for academic excellence despite maintaining two jobs alongside his studies so he could pay his way as a student. He graduated with a first class degree in electrical engineering while scoring the best marks at the university since 1965. . . Ufot also designed an electric car that goes as fast as 80 mph and was employed by Nissan. 🙂 At the moment, he’s seeking to receive his Ph.D and fluently speaks 4 languages. 🙂 Ufot Ekong truly broke out of the stereotypical demographic and the social barriers that Africans + African Americans face on the daily basis. His achievements should inspire many! 🙌🏾🙌🏾
