Blog: 2 Year Anniversary

Earlier this week, while I was scrolling through my notifications on WordPress. I came across the notification that my blog is officially 2 years old!!! 🎉🎉

It is awesome that I was led to create this blog 2 years back from now. When it comes to dates and time, reflecting on what was occurring in my life at that time, is very important to me.

A year prior to become apart of WordPress, I was going through the most difficult time of my life.

At the time, the devil wanted to me think I was LOSING everything and LOSING in life, period!

Little did I know, at that very moment, God was moving on my behalf. Letting me GAIN more than I ever thought I could.

Many thanks to all who are joining me as I continue this lovely ride.

Mid-week Devotional: Stirred Up To Pray

Today’s topic is called “Stirred Up to Pray” and it is an excerpt by James McDonald.

Paul gives us a term that really helps us describe the kind of prayer we’re going after—unceasing.

Unceasing prayer brings the glory of God down. 1 Thessalonians 5:17 says we are to “Pray without ceasing.”. It means that just as you are always physically breathing in and out as you go about your day, you should always be spiritually in a conversation with God.

Always talking: “Yes, Lord;” and “See that, Father?” and “Help me, God,” and always, always in an attitude of prayer.

When it comes to prayer, God Himself is in the stirring-up business. He doesn’t do it for His own good but for our good.

We need to pray unceasingly because it is immeasurably good for us!

Let’s look closely at God’s move to stir up Jeremiah (and us) to prayer:

“The word of the LORD came to Jeremiah a second time while he was still shut in the court of the guard. Thus says the LORD who made the earth, the LORD who formed it to establish it—the LORD is His name: ‘Call to Me, and I will answer and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known’” (Jeremiah 33:1-3).

Within these verses are four distinct promises from God to Jeremiah related to prayer. Do you see them? And when you do pray, ask God to bring you to constantly pray during your times of trouble and even during your times of rest.

“Stirring things” are around us every moment, but we need the eyes and heart to see them.

Prayer: “Father, continue to stir me toward a consistent attitude of prayer so that my sensitivity to immediate and momentary times for prayer is increased. Help me not only to pray without ceasing but to jump to special invitations to pray. Thank You for drawing near to me as I draw near to You! In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

He Will Help You : Verse of The Day

Happy Monday Everyone! Monday’s aren’t everyone’s favorite day of the week. Good news is, as we are here, GOD IS TOO!

For any and everything, we must continue to fight the good fight of faith. Looking to our Heavenly Father.. who will work all things out in our favor.

Here is a sweet + simple reminder:

Rest easy while the Lord handles it.

Knowing that God will work everything out for His Children’s good is very comforting to me. The devil wants us to worry about what we can do to fix a situation. When we need to relax and keep the faith that GOD will fix (work it out) for us.

Although I am currently going through an exhausting process to find a house to rent by the end of next month; I know God already has it worked out.

I do not know HOW nor am I concerned about that either.

During the darkest times of my life.

During the time when my closest friend/roommate turned her back on me.

During the times where I felt like an outsider while attending college.

During the times that I pondered to take my life rather than living out the very greatness that God blessed me with…

His loving hand and protection have been efficiently faithful. Constantly ensuring me that better was coming.

And it did.

And it will continue to do so.

As long as I am on this earth, I know the Lord is by my side. Being a shield against the wicked forces that roam the earth.

Food for Thought: Are you undergoing an scenario that is calling you to exercise your faith? Remember the sweet reminder that is within today’s word of the day. ❤️

The Lord Is Not Slow On His Promises

Ever had a promise from God and it seemed to take longer than what you wanted?

No matter how drawn out an tribulation may seem, God has His OWN timeline of when manifestations will occur in our lives. He doesn’t go by the timeline that we want to create for ourselves.

Waiting for a blessing isn’t always easy but with The Lord, it is certainly easier than what it would be. On the outside looking in, you’ll eventually come to realize how God prepared you prior to the blessings’ arrival.

In the meantime, never let such things push you into a depressive state of mind. Thinking in defeat or growing anger towards God. The devil loves to distract Gods’ children… clouding minds with lies and deceit. Break away from those thoughts. Don’t even let them conjure up in your head without denouncing them!

I personally can testify that the Lord will certainly preserve you while you wait. Just keep holding on!!

As I mentioned yesterday, an manifestation that the entire world will see is the Super Blue Blood Moon that will take place in the horizon tomorrow night and possibly in the morning. This phenomenon has not occurred since 1866. I’m probably the only one “geeking” out about this, but this is so rare!!

I believe that this holds major significance. A super blood moon and lunar eclipse hasn’t happened at the SAME TIME in 150 years. 😱😱😍

As The Holy Spirit is moving on our behave, I am ready to keep my spirit on an “readiness”. Openly receiving God’s wisdom, love, and insight to carry into this new passage of life. It’s still the beginning of 2018, let’s see what’s in store!!!

Goodnight everyone!

“The Lord does not delay [as though He were unable to act] and is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is [extraordinarily] patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.”

‭‭2 PETER‬ ‭3:9‬ ‭AMP‬‬

Verse of The Day: John 14:1

Good morning fellow readers! I am sure I am not the only one who think the weekend just wasn’t long enough! 😩😩Here we are, walking through another day that God has laid out for us.

Today’s verse of the day is from John 14:1. Reminding us not to let our hearts be troubled. For God is a great God and He wants THE BEST for His children.

I started my morning with communion to refresh my spirit, cleanse my heart and mind. I can say I definitely see the difference that it made in my day and it’s barely past 10am.

This morning at 5am, I was able to catch a glimpse of the Blood SuperMoon that is forming for its full capacity on the 31st. I believe that there is greatness manifesting right in-front of us. For this month started with the BIGGEST Supermoon of the year and it’s going to end with a Blood SuperMoon, as well as, a lunar eclipse. A triple “threat” as I like to cal it.

During this time, I am going to participate in communion with The Lord. After I wake and before I go to sleep. Not ceasing in prayer, making my requests known as God’s stars align into this new development.

If you like, do the same. God has no limits and I am going to have steady faith that what I ask for will be received in Jesus’ name. AMEN!

Have a great Monday everyone!!

Verse of The Day: Psalms 5:11 ✨

Today’s verse of the day is Psalms 5:11 ✨

“But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee.” Psalms 5:11 KJV

We’re so close to the first week of 2018 coming to an end. Here in Texas, we have had record breaking temps as low as 17 degrees. ❄️ ⛄️ I can surely say, I unexpectedly caught the flu for the first time this past weekend and it kicked my butt! Nether the less, I will continue to push through and get to the weekend in high spirits! Praising God for another day. 😆 Happy Thursday my friends! God bless! ✨

New Year, Same Goals! Time To Start My Foundation

Good Morning everyone!!

This is officially my first post of the YEAR! 2018 has arrived and I am beyond excited for the tremendous amounts of blessings that God is going to douse upon His children. “8” stands for new beginning’s and I truly believe we should all make our wants known to God.. for He will see them through. ✨

A lot of people like to write down a list of New Year’s resolutions that they would like to uphold throughout the year. If you are one of those people, KUDOS TO YOU!!!!

I stopped titling my list as “resolutions” and started calling them “goals” instead. One of my life goals that has carried into 2018 is to get my non-profit organization up and running. I have begun the preparations and it should legally official this Spring!! (Finally!!!!) Whooo hoo!

This blog has been the beckoning point to spread awareness on who The Ascender is and why the foundation has been started in the first place. I want to thank all of my followers on here who have taken out time to read and comment on my previous blog postings. You all are very much appreciated and I thank God for you daily! There’s nothing like having a spiritual family and audience that you can relate and go to.

If any of you have Instagram, please go and follow my foundation’s page. It is called “The Ascender’s Foundation” … I will be continuously posting updates regarding the foundation’s growth and progress in the community. I will make sure to follow you guys back as well!! Just click the icon below:

While you’re reading, what are some of your life goals that you would like to implement this year? Are there goals that you have within your heart but don’t think it’s the right time to start putting them into place? Let me say that, God does not give you a dream to tease you. He gives it to you because it is your purpose! 😊

Have a great day everyone! God Bless. ❤️

‘Tis The Season To Give Back

Happy Tuesday Readers!! 😃

I am mind-blown that Christmas weekend is almost here!! I know everyone is caught up on figuring out what gifts to give to their family and friends. Let me tell you, I haven’t even gone Christmas shopping yet. But it’s ok! I have some time right? 😆I usually end up handcrafting items for my family/friends to show my appreciation for them.

The older I become, the less fascinated I become with the world’s idea about Christmas. From tv commercials, ads, magazines, & online shopping; we constantly have advertisements from society telling us that Christmas isn’t great if you don’t have materialistic items to go along with it.

What I do want to focus on during this time of the year is the fact that our Lord and Savior was born into this world over 2,000 years ago. Leaving Heaven, leaving PARADISE and all the Grand things above… out of love. ❤️

Can you imagine sacrificing your life when you did no wrong for those who curse you? Knowing that there will be people who will not accept you even after the fact?

Let that sink in.

December 25th reflects truth of how Jesus gave us the GREATEST gift of all. Providing a way for us to inherit eternal life. He already paid the price. He only wants us to simply accept Him for who He is. The only begotten son of God. Who died and rose again. The One who overcame & LIVES.

I’m dedicating this holiday season to give back to others. Whether that involves volunteering with local non-profit organizations or giving to strangers that I see on the street.

I used to pray before giving to those that I came across on the streets. Praying that I be led to the people who truly needed inspiration and encouragement that day. As the Holy Spirit directed, I followed.

During the Holidays, you may find more people panhandling more than usual. Yes, some of them can be scammers. At the end of the day, as long as your intentions are pure… what can you do?🤷🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️

If you don’t feel comfortable giving anyone money, feel free to create a care package that include necessities that all could use. Such as:

  • Toothbrushes
  • Toothpaste
  • Water
  • Crackers
  • Socks
  • Gloves
  • Snacks
  • Ham/Cheese Sandwich
  • A personal written card of inspiration from you to them.

You’d be surprised how that could make someone’s day!

One of the ways I have chosen to give back to the community is by donating money to this Jamaican summer camp for children. One of my oldest and dearest friends is hosting this event next August.

Below is an excerpt from their donation website:

“We are launching a literacy and research summer camp program to empower community through education and self-care practices. Our goal is to serve 25 children and young adults ages (7-21). The literacy program will last four hours a day for two weeks in August. Our plan is to use technology to test, evaluate, and build children and adult literacy skills to help reach their full academic potential. Students will also be exposed to resource classes and mentoring sessions as a part of the summer camps rigorous curriculum.

This program gives students a safe environment to learn in small groups and gain support through team building and resource activities. Supporting this project helps students prepare for their upcoming school year, taking the burden off families who may not be able to afford summer enrichment. We are here to serve children and adults during the summer time when school is closed and many children are without programs for enrichment.  Our plan is to keep our students focused and engage their minds in positive activities for positive growth. We want all of our students to reach their highest potential.

Jamaica is a beautiful country with rich resources all around but the people are underserved when it comes to educational and financial support which causes children to miss out on school and educational opportunities. Local authorities are greedy and they exploit the country to support themselves therefore leaving the youth in bad predicaments. Being in an impoverished environment can take away from the child succeeding due to the stresses of day to day survival. With globalization happening around the world and improvement of technology, we together can fight literacy and liberate our people. Literacy goes beyond the meaning of the ability to read and write. It opens the doors to many opportunities and empowers us with knowledge.”

When it comes to children in 3rd world countries, my heart ACHES for them. Literally aches. I pray for them daily (even for children who are going without in our own backyard). This campaign is going to help shape the lives of the children who attend the camp.

Knowing that my divine purpose here on earth is to be a full time missionary, I am planning to spend time in Jamaica next summer to participate in this program; as well as, kick off my very own event for children in Jamaica.

If you would like to read more or donate to the cause, feel free to visit the page here. 😃🇯🇲❤️ God bless!!!!

Verse of the Day : Romans 5: V. 3-4

Today’s verse of the day via bible app is Romans 5:3-4. I initially read this during the midnight hour last night and will continue to actively meditate on this verse thought my day.

There’s so much truth to it! I love it. Though we go through certain tribulations, we must continue to rejoice… expecting greatness by the second. We serve a Mighty Great God! Take out time of your day to give thanks unto The Lord. Here is another day that was not promised. I hope all of my readers have an amazing Wednesday. We’re almost through the work week. Stay encouraged!! 😃❤️

And not only this, but [with joy] let us exult in our sufferings and rejoice in our hardships, knowing that hardship (distress, pressure, trouble) produces patient endurance; and endurance, proven character (spiritual maturity); and proven character, hope and confident assurance [of eternal salvation].”
