Tribulations Make You Stronger Pt.1

During July 2014 I was going through some trials and tribulations. Just like you, I am human and attached to this flesh like everyone else on this earth. I had a 10 year relationship with one of my “best friends”. That month in July, I moved in with that friend and her girlfriend moved in as well. (I know what you are probably thinking… not a wise choice.) This couple had a list of problems but being who I am… I overlooked their past.

Of course being young and dumb, we binged ourselves in alcohol daily. No matter if I had work the next day or not. It did not matter. Society says it’s cool.. so do it right?

Being of the world it looked like we were living the life! We just moved into a platinum apartment in the Colony, TX. I was working two jobs at the time. I worked at this retail store called Wet Seal and Janie & Jack. I was a manager at both stores. I worked all day and night busting my butt to make ends meet and to have money to play with on the side.

One day my employee, Caitlin, came into work excited MORE than ever before. She opened her mouth with astonishing news. She said she got a new job at this trucking company named Con-way Multimodal. They make $35K a year (not including the monthly commission). Another perk of the new job was getting paid weekly instead of every two weeks like most jobs.

That was music to my ears!!! Who wouldn’t want a salary that pays weekly. SCORE!!!

I told her how much of a miracle it was. I cheered her on and congratulated her over and over. I also thought to myself, “how awesome would it be if I was able to achieve that very
accomplishment at 21 Years of age?

Long story short, the opportunity came at my doorstep. Caitlin told me to apply. Literally, she did not have to tell me TWICE! I jumped to the occasion. I prayed to the maker himself, begging for the opportunity to go all the way through.

I applied twice. The first time, they did not reach back out to me. Caitlin notified me when they posted the next job offer. I was on a family vacation in Las Vegas, NV at the time. I had this constant itch to go back to Texas to re-submit that application. I knew time was limited and the longer I waited the faster the opportunity window was closing.

As I was having the best time on vacation, my spirit yearned to get on the nearest computer to update my information and resume. As soon as we landed back in Dallas, I hopped onto my laptop to re-apply. Caitlin ensured me not to worry and that I would get the job.She comforted me in my time of quick distress. I meditated on the word everyday and even fasted to show the Lord I was dedicated.

My family encouraged me daily reminding me that God allowed me level up in four jobs within a year’s time. If anything, I knew one thing: “All things are possible through Christ who strengthens me.

By knowing that truly in your heart… NOTHING, I mean nothing or no one can stop you. The best part about the bible, it is not only a love story and a book of testimonies. It is a manual on how God’s beloved apostles made it during the hardest times of their lives. It is centuries old but the lessons they faced are similar to the giants we face today.

One day after I re-applied two ladies came into one of the retail stores that i was working at. I was fixing the back of the store. My closing employee said two women wanted to talk to me. Strange enough, I was ALL the way in the back of the store. How did they know to come talk to me???
One word: GOD!!!!

Anywho, the first words they spoke were “Can we pray for you???

I immediately got caught off guard. How many strangers come up to you and ask to
pray for you? Hardly anyone does that now a days. I told them they were more than welcome to pray for me. I didn’t hesitate at all. Before they got started, they asked what was I seeking or wanting from God. I told them about the new job search and gave them information regarding my working background. We ended up holding hands and set a prayer for our God to hear. One of the ladies told me she works in corporate America and ensured me as well, that I would get the job. She told me not to worry.

At that point in my life, I have been a witness of God’s wonders and miracles. I already had an attitude of victory, knowing with him I would prevail. Having those women pray for me along with my friends & family members made me feel even better about it. I felt extremely loved and cared for.

Thanks to the glory of God!!! I was able to get the job at Con-way. A young and God-fearing woman.God made a way out of no way once again!

By August 2014, I was able to start my new career without having official certification from college. I love how God gave me a real career to work at instead of an regular temporary
job. After getting a brand new job, I realized I was making 80% more than any of my peers in college. I felt very accomplished. I held my head up high, not with pride but confidence. It was another hill that I overcame!

My dear friends and strangers: God will answer your prayers!!!!! Never pray and worry. God is always there making sure his obedient servants get the things they desire the most. (As long as it aligns with his will).

“And we know that all things work for the good to those who love the Lord and are called according to his purpose” Romans 8:28

Are You Ready? Here We Go!

If you have not been reading my other post, let me remind you guys that God knows every single thing that we face on this earth. He wants us to personally express ourselves to him. He wants us to open our mouths and share our feelings and thoughts with him. Even though, he knows what you are thinking and what you will say before you do. It is the simple fact that you must talk and walk out in faith to grow such a relationship with Christ… or anyone for that matter.

For example: Let’s say you have a crush on someone that you have a class with at school. To actually get to know that person deep down, you must simply have conversations with them right? I think we can all agree that on that. Tiny conversations usually end up growing into deep conversations further along in the relationship.

We are always willing to go out of our way for people who don’t think twice about us. Why not open our mouths and get to know the Lord? The one who never leaves us or forsakes us.
Acknowledging God is very important. We naturally (as believers) know he is there, but we also have to walk/act it out during our daily routines.

God, Jesus and his angels never stop looking out for us. They look after us when we’re sleep, when we are awake, as well as, when we eat.

Just know  that whatever it is that we do, God is right there being a witness to it. How interesting is that?? We cannot naturally see his presence, yet he is still there! During the winter, spring, summer and fall. He never leaves us to fend for ourselves. Please don’t think of his protection as a burden BUT a comfort.

  • How AMAZING does it feel to know that you are not struggling alone?
  • How WONDERFUL does it feel to know that God is rooting for you to overcome your daily battles?

I am astonished at that fact that God hears our every prayer, catches each tear that falls from the midst of our eyes. There’s never a moment where he leaves your side!

As I take you on this eye-opening journey.

  1. Remember to stay open minded. Do not hold doubt, fear, worry or anger in your hearts.
  2. Remember he loves you just as much as me loves me.

Trust me that is A LOT of love! Embrace it and smile along the way. You are royalty. It is time that you finally realize it.

Introduction to a Long Journey

Let me start off by introducing myself. My name is Alyssa Moore. When I first started on this wonderful project it was the year of 2015, I was 22 years old at the time.
Looking back on my life, it seems like I have been living far much longer than that. Man… I must say, I have come a long way! Thanks to God, I’ve been very blessed to make it this far! Throughout the general struggles of life. Each situation that comes about (good or bad) we end up learning something from it.
From my personal experiences in my life, I can definitely say that God is my anchor and Jesus is my best friend. I talk to him on the daily basis. Without his guidance, I would still be a lost sheep like the rest of the world. Jesus truly is my fortress and high tower.
I would not be here if it was not for his grace and mercy over my life. When life got hard, the thought of ending my life early started to come about. I was willing to ponder on a permanent decision over a temporary situation.

If i did take my own life, I would be telling God that I do not trust him to take care of me
and that I can figure out what is best for me on my own. As teenagers or young adults, we start to carry this attitude of Independence. Constantly wanting everyone to accept who
we “think” we are and cut them out of our lives if they simply don’t accept it.

A lot of believers know that Christ is real. Few actually walk out his word. I am not talking about solely you, but even myself. I used to have a double standard mindset. It took a lot of
discipline and life lessons for me to get where I am now. Trust me, I have been through it all! I say that but there are certain situations God has spared me from experiencing. Let me give you some background on myself.

I grew up always wanting and envying what everyone else had. Growing up, I was often made fun of for how I looked so differently than others. Kids are very cruel and naive as well. What else do you expect?

From elementary school all the way to college, I tried to fit into society’s social standards. I often would look for love in the wrong places. Places that led me into darkness and destruction.

I was too blind to realize that I was blessed before I came out of my mother’s womb. Year after year, I learned not to let it get to me. It actually taught me how to grow what they call “thick skin”.

Have you ever heard that saying.. “Sticks and stones may break our bones but words will not define me?” Or that one that went like “I’m rubber, you’re glue: whatever you say bounces off of me and sticks to you”?

I had those saying burned into my head. There HAS to be a point in your life where you could care less about what others think about you. Trying to please the world will lead you off a cliff. The type of people who exist today will even laugh at you on your miserable way to such destruction. More times than none, society will try to make you lose hope. You do not find too many people naturally encouraging strangers to make sure their day turns out better than the hours before. Society loves to degrade and bring others down, knowing the outcome of teasing them can tear the victim apart. It somehow thrills them.

No one is perfect and the best part about it is, God does not expect us to be. The days that we live on this earth, there is no reason for us to achieve greater. Do better and actually make something in this symphony called life.

God is the mighty creator of all things. He knows first hand of the struggles we go through and the future ones that we will face.

When we go through hard scenarios, we feel as if we are going through it alone.
God’s holy spirit is right here with us through all of the troubles we endure.
He let’s us go through hardships to shape and mold us into the people he INTENDED us to be. If you did not go through the hardships in your life, would be as grateful
as you are now?

For example: Let’s say you have been without a job for years, swamped in a load of debt and struggling day to day. You continue to stay positive and never give up that sprinkle of hope that God has given you.

All of a sudden one day, someone offers you an amazing salary job, where you make MORE than enough to cover your debt. After a while, you realize you are back on your feet and able to indulge on extra luxuries of life. If you did not go through the hard times, you may not be able to fully enjoy and be grateful for the new life that God has provided for you.
