Life Lessons

Happy Tuesday!!

Good afternoon everyone!!! It’s been a while since I’ve been on here. My life started to get VERY interesting this month. I just got back from my first visit to Denver, CO! I will be posting something tomorrow describing this wonderful & accelerating experience. (I will give you a hint: one story involves mountain lions and the other involves a baby black bear) 😱😱

Thank God for his covering and favor! Lol Both stories could’ve went south without his hedge of protection. Don’t worry, I took a lot of amazing shots while I was there.  I pray that you all are doing GREAT and feeling wonderful!!

Stay blessed and keep your heads up!! Enjoy the rest of your day. ❤️❤️

*P.S: Both photos are mine, I just didn’t have time to watermark them! 😉

Devotional- Spiritual Weapons

  Your Three Best Weapons

“Through careful strategy and cunning deceit, Satan attempts to wage war against you and keep you in a mindset of defeat. But God has given you spiritual weapons to use against him. Here are the main three spiritual weapons you can use to fight off the enemy:

1. God’s Word: Receive it through preaching, teaching, reading and private Bible study. Continue in the Word until it becomes revelation given by inspiration of the Holy Spirit.

2. Praise: This defeats the devil faster and more efficiently than any other battle plan, but it must be genuine heart-praise, not just lip service or a religious ritual.

3. Prayer: Prayer is relationship with the Godhead. It is communication with God, asking Him for help or talking with Him about whatever is on your heart. To have an effective prayer life, we must develop an intimate, personal relationship with the Father. Know that He loves you and that He wants to help you.

There is a war going on, but God is fighting on your side and has given you the weapons you need. Use them to send Satan running!

Prayer Starter: Lord, thank You so much for giving me the spiritual weapons I need to fight my enemy. With Your help, I know that I can win the battle today!”

” For though we walk (live) in the flesh, we are not carrying on our warfare according to the flesh and using mere human weapons.” 2 Corinthians 10:3

Ways Of The World

“Our delight as Christians is in knowing God and walking in His ways – firmly grounded in His word. It is not the way of the Lord to live in the counsel of the ungodly – following their advice. In other words, we don’t listen to what the world says we should do, but we do what God’s word says to do. We don’t stand in the path where sinners walk. In other words, we don’t walk down the path they are walking, coming under their influence. We don’t sit down to rest where the scornful and mockers gather – to be seen as like-minded with them.

God’s ways are so different to the world’s ways. The times we live in today are hard. There is so much the world is telling us that seems all right on the surface – but it’s lies masked as truth. We need to pray that God would show us the truth in the midst of it – seeking His counsel in it.

As we continue to live by God’s word, we shall be like a tree firmly planted by streams. We shall be nourished and refreshed, always producing fruit in season. God blesses our stand for Him. No matter what the ungodly say or do, as we stand for Jesus and the truth of God’s word – we shall be blessed.”

Prayer Starter: Your ways, Lord, are not the same As what the world displays. Help me, Lord, to see the difference and choose to walk your way.

More of You Jesus, Less of Me!

On this morning, throw your flesh to the side and strive to be more like our Savior, Jesus. As we know the fruits of his Holy Spirit are: Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness and Self -control. Each day I ask the Lord to fill me with his Spirit to produce his fruits throughout the day. I used to have a really terrible anger problem. If someone dared to ask me a question that I didn’t like, my blood pressure would automatically set to BROIL!

In reality, it would set my day back when I let other people control my mood as I did. I remember watching one of my fellow coworkers do the same as I did, it didn’t look so appealing as I thought. I knew that was not the way God wants his children to act nor think. When our minds are set on such negativity we are vulnerable to let the devil steal our joy that God has given us. The devil has already lost the war, I rather not give him any indication that he can take advantage of me while we wait for our Groom to take us home (to paradise). So I’ve learned to ask the Lord for strength, patience and, of course. LOVE to deal with his children….

I am striving to make the best of each day that is given to me. If there was no work for me to do here on earth, I would simply not be here. This life will seem as a mere memory when we are in the final presence of the Lord in Heaven. It is said in the book of Revelations that we will be judged by our works when it is time for the Final Judgement.

“The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what they have done.” Revelations 20:13 NIV

When we accept Jesus as our Savior, he tells us to turn away from our past behavior and become a new creature. I am only 23 years old and the things I did in my past were not always right. Although God already knows my faults and wrongdoings, to actually hear him say them out loud in front of all seems intimidating. 😳 lol Yes, the Lord himself said We are forgiven when we repent. I want to make sure I take each forgiven second to do some Kingdom good on carnal ground.

By saying NO to my flesh and YES to Jesus… make me more like you Lord!! Amen!

Remain In Peace

   You Can Always Have Peace

At this moment in my life, I am depending on God more than ever before. While the world is asking me “What will you do next?”, I can only answer back “Trust my Heavenly Father.” The Lord has positioned me into His rest and it feels phenomenal! It is a feeling that cannot be bought. It is completely priceless. While life keeps hitting us hard, remain in peace with God. You will overcome all things! Before you end your evening, check this last excerpt by Joyce Meyer. This is something all believers must keep in mind!

“Satan relentlessly attempts to steal everything God has provided for His children through Jesus Christ. Peace is one of the biggies; it is one of the things he works extra hard to prevent us from enjoying. Remember, we have peace—Jesus provided it—but we must appropriate it. That means to take it and use it for our own use. Satan does everything he can to keep us from doing this, beginning with deception; he wants us to think that peace is not possible, that it is not even an option.

When we have a challenging situation, Satan says, “What are you going to do? What are you going to do?” We frequently don’t know what to do; nevertheless, Satan pressures us for answers that we don’t have. He tries to make us believe it is our responsibility to solve our problems when the Word of God clearly states that our job as believers is to believe—not solve our problems. We believe, and God works on our behalf to bring answers that meet our needs.

A good example of this is found in Exodus 14. The Egyptians were pursuing the Israelites; all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, his horsemen and army were in pursuit of God’s people. When the Israelites found themselves stuck between the Red Sea and the Egyptian army, it seemed hopeless. They could see no way out, so naturally, they became fearful and upset. They began to complain and make accusations against their leader, Moses.

“Moses told the people, Fear not; stand still (firm, confident, undismayed) and see the salvation of the Lord which He will work for you today. For the Egyptians you have seen today you shall never see again. The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace and remain at rest” (Exodus 14:13-14).

It may have sounded foolish to the Israelites to stand still, hold their peace, and remain at rest, but that was God’s instruction to them—it was their way to deliverance. When we remain peaceful in tumultuous circumstances, it clearly shows that we are trusting God.

Trust in Him!

Don’t say “God, I trust You,” if your actions show otherwise. Trust God with your words and actions; rest in His peace, and He will deliver you.”

From the book Trusting God Day by Day by Joyce Meyer.

Keep Exodus 14:14 close by during your times of trouble & confusion. The Lord loves you very much. Have a blessed evening everyone!

Believe The Best About People

This is a subject that I, myself, constantly work on day and night. Although I am young, I have been through many circumstances with other people. I used to have this cold-hearted attitude where I wouldn’t give anyone a bit of my time if they weren’t “worthy” of it. It’s interesting how the Lord dedicates HIS time for us even though we are not necessarily worthy. His everlasting and gracious Holy Spirit is available to us 24/7, 365 days a year.

I’ve learned to try my absolute best to think the best about my enemies. The Lord personally tells us to bless our enemies and those who curse us. By forgiving those who have hurt us, we can now live our lives free from any bondage or burden that they may have caused. Check out what Mrs. Joyce Meyer has to say about this topic!

“Believing the best about people is very helpful in the process of forgiving people who hurt or offend us. As human beings, we tend to be suspicious of others and we often get hurt due to our own imaginations. It is possible to believe someone hurt you on purpose when the truth is they were not even aware they did anything at all, and never intended to upset you.

I can remember, during the early years of our marriage, focusing on everything I considered negative about Dave and ignoring his positive traits. My thoughts went something like this: We just don’t agree about anything. Dave is so stubborn, and he has to be right all the time. He is insensitive, and he just doesn’t care how I feel. He never thinks of anyone but himself. In reality, none of these thoughts were true!

They only existed in my own mind; and my wrong thinking caused a great deal of offense and disagreement that could have been easily avoided had my mindset been more positive. Over time, as I grew in my relationship with God, I learned the power of believing the best about people and meditating on the things that were good. As that happened, my thinking sounded like this: Dave is usually very easy to get along with; he has his areas of stubbornness, but then so do I. Dave loves me and would never hurt my feelings on purpose. Dave is very protective of me and always makes sure I am taken care of. At first, I had to think these things on purpose, but now I actually feel uncomfortable when I think negative thoughts, and positive thoughts come more naturally because I have disciplined myself to think them.

There are still times when people hurt my feelings, but then I remember that I can choose whether to be hurt or to “get over it.” I can believe the best or I can believe the worst, so why not believe the best and enjoy my day? Trust in Him!

Answer this: Do you believe the best about people? Is there someone in particular whom you need to believe the best? Trust God to help you meditate on the best of all people until positive thoughts come naturally.”

God IS My Anchor

 Anchored in Goodness

“You may have heard it before: life is hard; God is good. This statement is far more than a cliché: it’s a strong and solid theological truth. Some incredibly smart people have wrestled with such questions as, “if God is good, then why does this happen? Why is injustice allowed, and why can life be so hard?” Those really smart people concluded that life is hard AND God is good. One doesn’t cancel out the other. They call it “theodicy.”
Most people assume that because life is hard, God must not be good—but that’s not the case. It’s not an either/or scenario.

A few years ago, I decided that even when I couldn’t answer the “why?” part of that statement (“If God is good, then why ____?”), I decided that I would eliminate the “if.” In other words, I choose to believe that God is good . . . no matter what.
You can anchor yourself in God’s goodness too. Start watching for the goodness of God despite the circumstances. Maybe the door gets closed on one opportunity, but maybe God has something better in store that we have to walk through a different door in order to access it.

This has happened so many times in my own life that now I expect it. When something doesn’t go my way, I remind myself of God’s track record and I start watching for the next opportunity that will uncover God’s ultimate plan through the process.Being anchored in the goodness of God isn’t always going to be a rational thing. It’s a stubborn, unrelenting determination not to let the hardships of life downsize the bigness of God.

Think about it: What are ways you can remind yourself to watch for God’s goodness despite the circumstances?
PRAY: God, thank you for helping me get anchored in your goodness. Give me strength today to stop wondering and start watching for your favor in every situation. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.”

My personal response to the “Think About It” question: I never knew at 23 years old, I would’ve been a store manager at two clothing stores; then promoted (by God) to work at a multi-billion dollar trucking company. I never knew that after a year and a half of working at the trucking company, I would be unemployed for a few months. Even though I did not expect all of that to happen, the Lord already knew it was going to happen. Now that I am still unemployed I have anchored myself in God’s rest. He has blessed me to still be financially stable for everything I possess. As it is coming close for my unemployment funds to run out, I refuse to get stressed over life’s situations. As I think about my past history, I surely can testify that God has always made a way out of no way. And you know what? He will do it again. His goodness and grace is everlasting. No matter what happens in my life on earth, Heaven is the reason I rejoice daily!

What would you answer to the “Think About It” question?? I would love to hear some feedback from my lovely family in Christ! Thanks for reading! Stay Blessed.

Holy Inheritance

It’s FRIDAY! YAY!! Congrats, you made it out another week. Not to mention, there is another reason you should be excited today! There’s an Inheritance Waiting for You!! Get excited, Get ready!

“If you were the son or the daughter of Bill Gates, it would probably stand to reason that you were going to receive a large inheritance.

But you have a father that is wealthier than Bill Gates. Your heavenly Father has prepared an inheritance for you as one of his children. The Bible says in Romans 8:16-17, “For his Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children. And since we are his children, we are his heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God’s glory” (NLT, second edition).

That is one of the most amazing verses in the entire Bible. Everything that God has given to his Son Jesus Christ he’s given to you also. You’re going to share in his glory. That is limitless! In Heaven, you will have unlimited access to the unlimited resources of God, because God created you to be his child. But you must choose to be his child by asking him to accept you into his family.

Everybody is created by God, but not everybody’s a child of God. You have to choose him and say, “Lord, I put my trust in you. I accept what you did for me on the cross. I believe in you, and I want to love you and trust you.” When you do that, you become a child of God, and you’re going to have an inheritance one day.

Any parents are going to want to know that their child is responsible before they give the inheritance. Often times parents test their children in small amounts before they are given a larger amount. The same is true with you spiritually. This life is your test. God is testing you to see what you do with little amounts before he trusts you with more in eternity. He’s watching what you do with that little bit of talent to see whether you’re going to be responsible enough to get greater talents in Heaven.

He’s testing you to see how you handle the little bit of wealth he’s given you. How do you handle the relationships he’s given you? How do you handle the little opportunities he gives you? If you’re doing well with it, guess what? The Bible says you will be trusted with more in Heaven:

“If you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in large ones” (Luke 16:10a). What are you doing with what you’ve been given?”

Wow! I would love to hear what you guys think about our Holy Inheritance that Joyce Meyer describes to us. I truly believe that if we are useful with the talents and the gifts that we are blessed with here on earth, The Lord will surely give us more during our eternity with him. As today is Good Friday, I am extremely thankful to our Savior, our Hero, Jesus Christ! Over 2,000 years ago, he made the biggest sacrifice that anyone could make and he did it out of pure LOVE. There is nothing better. We are heirs to God’s glory, we are children of God! I don’t know what everyone on this blog is going through in life, but hang on! Do not let depression, anxiety, doubt, or fear fill your mind. The storm will not last always. This life will be a mere memory compared to eternity. Have a wonderful Good Friday! Thanks again for reading!

Better Than 40 Years

One morning, my sister Alex and I woke up and decided to walk around the area I lived in. Not too far from my place, there’s a pier to the lake. The pier so happens to be at the end of this long road. We decided to walk down that road instead of driving. I assumed that it wouldn’t be so bad since it looks pretty close when I look outside my balcony. Come to find out, the road was MUCH longer than we could have ever assumed. We did not bring any water, towels or cups of ice along with us. We were shy of half way down the road. I wanted to turn around, but my younger sister wanted the walk to be worth the while. So we kept trekking along. I asked God to dispatch hard winds in the hot atmosphere to help disregard the heat. He did just that! (Not too hard but just enough to cool us off) We finally made it to the pier after 30 minutes. Dirt completely covered my sandals and toes. My back was full of dripping, sticky sweat. We gazed at the shores of the lake and rested until we gained strength to continue our walk back.

As we headed down the long road again, we could not shake off how tired and thirsty we were. I soon felt distraught. As much as I wanted to give up and simply not continue… I knew we had no other choice. It helped knowing that God was right there with us. Finally, after two good hours, we made it back to my apartment. What kept me going was remembering how the Israelites had to make an 11 day journey from Egypt to the promise land… but ended up walking in circles for 40 years instead. I knew where our destiny was and how it would NOT take us 40 years to get there. THAT was my motivation to get back.

MOTIVATION from God is a life essential. When we’re weary, Jesus is the one who will get us through. This whole journey was surely one interesting experience. After we finished the extreme walk, I was grateful to God for giving me strength to get up the 3 flights of stairs. Alex and I decided to take a dip in the apartment pool to soothe us. Once we stepped in the cool water, it felt absolutely incredible!! To be able to soak & swim in an abundance amount of refreshing water is truly indescribable after a torturous walk as such. My goodness! It felt like a great accomplishment that he brought me to. I floated my body on the water. Facing upward at the blue sky, along with the abundant of grace in it as well. It was genuinely a beautiful sight. I could not express the words I felt. I can definitely say, I am happy it wasn’t dragged out to 40 long years down the road.I will need the Lord’s help and strength for eternity. Without his help, I am nothing.

What I know is, the younger generation of the Israelites eventually got to see the promise that God ensured them. No matter what, we must keep in mind victory is God’s!!! One who is with him will overcome many battles. God said himself that he sent them into the wilderness to humble them. As well as to prove to them to trust God with all of their hearts. The following scriptures I will list demonstrates how God observes you through your struggles.

“ 1) ALL THE commandments which I command you this day you shall be watchful to do, that you may live and multiply and go in and possess the land which the Lord swore to give to your fathers. 2) And you shall [earnestly] remember all the way which the Lord your God led you these forty years in the wilderness, to humble you and to prove you, to know what was in your [mind and] heart, whether you would keep His commandments or not.

3) And He humbled you and allowed you to hunger and fed you with manna, which you did not know nor did your fathers know, that He might make you recognize and personally know that man does not live by bread only, but man lives by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of the Lord. 4) Your clothing did not become old upon you nor did your feet swell these forty years.

5) Know also in your [minds and] hearts that, as a man disciplines and instructs his son, so the Lord your God disciplines and instructs you. 6) So you shall keep the commandments of the Lord your God, to walk in His ways and [reverently] fear Him. [Prov. 8:13.]

7) For the Lord your God is bringing you into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and springs, flowing forth in valleys and hills; 8) A land of wheat and barley, and vines and fig trees and pomegranates, a land of olive trees and honey;

9) A land in which you shall eat food without shortage and lack nothing in it; a land whose stones are iron and out of whose hills you can dig copper. 10)When you have eaten and are full, then you shall bless the Lord your God for all the good land which He has given you. 11) Beware that you do not forget the Lord your God by not keeping His commandments, His precepts, and His statutes which I command you today,”

‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭8:1-11‬ ‭(AMP‬)

Thanks for reading!! Stay encouraged my friends. Your journey may seem long but it is better than 40 years! God has not forgotten you! Have a wonderful day. God Bless!!
