DIY: Baby Shower Cupcake Idea

I previously posted a DIY Chalkboard idea that I did for my bestfriend’s baby shower. What I also made for her future newborn were these DIY cupcakes made from baby clothes.

They looked like they would be extremely simple to do. Yet, they were a little more complex than I expected. lol I stopped counting the amount of time that I had to re-do them.

Neither the less, it was a perfect baby shower gift for a mom-to-be. All you need to create this idea is:

  1. Cupcake liners
  2. Baby Onesie’s or shirt
  3. Baby socks
  4. A box to present them in

I will say that the bigger the size of the baby clothes, the harder it is to roll them into the cupcake.

Steps:

  • You will lay out the shirt that you are going to roll.
  • Fold it in half.
  • Proceed to fold to make it as “skinny” and long as you can.
  • Once you have that folded and laying flat, you will begin to roll up a baby sock inside the shirt.

It takes a lot of playing around to do to get it just right. Take your time 🙂 Check out Pinterest for instructional video on how to do it.

I HIGHLY recommend it!!

My friend and I are feen’s for anchor themed items. We both got matching anchor tattoos (in our youth) due to the love for the ocean. I couldn’t help but to order a baby set for her daughter. It came with an anchor t-shirt, white bottoms, and anchor bandana for the baby.

I went to Walmart to get a box for the presentation. I couldn’t help but to draw on top of the box as well. Check it out!!

Hope I got your creativity senses flowing on what you would do for a friend, family member or yourself! 🙂

DIY: Baby Shower Gift

A few weeks ago, one of my oldest and dearest friend’s had her FIRST baby shower!! Coming from someone who loves to partake in DIY crafts, I knew I had to make something extremely unique and special for her daughter Aubree! I instantly remembered that I had some more chalkboard spray paint leftover from a previous project and some spare planks of wood that I found.

To make this simple DIY Chalkboard, you will need:

  1. Chalkboard paint or spray paint
  2. Chalk! (of course) haha
  3. A piece of wood or something with a hard, flat surface.

That’s it!! Best part about chalkboard paint, it is extremely universal. Just make sure the surface that you are spraying it on is smooth and not rigid. I sanded the wood scrap that I had before applying the paint onto it.

With some prayer and determination, it turned out GREAT!!!!! She had a princess theme and I wanted to add a unicorn horn at the end to compliment the theme.

Christmas is coming up!! If you guys want to make something simple but creative, I dare you to try it out. 🙂 Practice makes “perfect”.
