Dealing with Dread by Joyce Meyer

Oh look! A brand new day… with a side basket of dread waiting for me as I get ready for work. Thankfully, the Lord led me to this excerpt by Joyce Meyer. This excerpt helped me remove that toxic mindframe and focus on greater! If you need a “pick-me-up” this morning, I am sure this will help you as well. We can do it!!! 😊

“It’s impossible to reach your God-given destiny if you allow your thoughts to be overcome by dread. Dread is a close relative of fear, and allowing it to remain in your mind, sets you up for misery and robs you of joy.

Once, I experienced a feeling of dread as we were planning our trip to speak in India. I was excited about the wonderful opportunity there, but all I could focus on was the long flight and poor conditions that exist in that country. I’m grateful that I knew how to dispel that dread by focusing on and dwelling on God’s Word. If I had allowed myself to dwell on the negative aspects of the trip, it would’ve taken away the joy and excitement God wanted me to experience.

Dread is a trap, and you must be determined not to fall into it. If not being sure of the future or facing new things causes you to feel dread or fear, turn to Psalm 27:1, praying and confessing out loud, ‘The Lord is my Light and my Salvation, whom shall I fear or dread?’

Ending Prayer: Lord, I declare today that You are my Light and my Salvation. Because of You, I don’t need to dread the future. I have victory in You.”

“The LORD is my light and my salvation– Whom shall I fear? The LORD is the refuge and fortress of my life– Whom shall I dread?”

‭‭PSALM‬ ‭27:1‬ ‭AMP‬‬

Express Yourself ✨

Over the years, I have learned to channel my energy into being creative someway, somehow. If it’s expressed through drawing, writing, singing or dancing… I always feel great afterwards.

Even on the most frustrating days of my life, I try not to harp on it. If I don’t channel the negativity  onto something much more positive, I’ll be distracted my all of the toxic vibes that naturally come from this world.

Lately, I’ve been noticing how I will start a drawing/project then neglect it soon after. 😯 So last week I challenged myself to come up with a freestyle doodle each night. This is what came to mind.

“Float like a butterfly🦋, sting like a bee🐝”

“Break free, be care free!”

I also sketched my first femme anatomy drawing within a minute or two. I think a lot of people get offended with the natural anatomy but it is something that we all have in common. We may come from different backgrounds/experiences and have differrent skin tones; BUT we all came into this world naked, as God created us to be.

As a woman…facing our insecurities about our bodies is extremely important. We have to practice self love. Witholding judgment against ourselves and stop comaring how we were created to others.  Society already tries to force the different views of how we “should” look down our throats. From the brainwashing of magazines, make-up commericials and even reality tv… It is all a scheme in itself.

This drawing above is a Polaroid from the 90s. It is a photograph of my mother holding me up. I look at this picture and wonder “What all was happening during the time this photo was taken?”

I noticed my mother’s wild-style of a hair choice in the photo. I am sure I had something to do with that. They say the middle children are the biggest handful :p haha

As this photo is still in the making, I’ve been reflecting on how much I appreciate my mom. She is a rock that has always been there for me during the storms of my life. I am not a mother myself but my heart goes out to all of the mothers who feel like their work is going unnoticed. God sees ya working!

I hope my readers have a great week. God is always moving, let’s see what blessings fall down for the week!!!

With Your Heart, Soul, and Mind ❤️

In all that we do; the Lord tells us to love Him with all of our hearts, souls, and minds. Which is said to be the greatest commandment of all. Second greatest that follows is to love our neighbors as we love yourselves. (Matthew 22:37)

As the hours, days and years slip by… We naturally slip into the deep abyss of the world. We stumble upon treacherous road blocks and wall of distractions that sometimes lead us on a “detour”. Coming across…seeking to break through onto the other side of our destiny. Little do we know, those very detours actually take part of molding our character into the wiser being that God wants us to be.

We learn from those mistakes, lessons, and heartbreaks. It never feels good during the storm but on the other side….God’s radiant sun is still shining. His glissening Holy Spirit shimmers throughout the whole earth (and far beyond), failing to skip a beat. Faithfully looking after us even when we fail to look/seek Him. Knowing such greatness is around, I , myself have to refocus daily. Sitting still and remembering that our God is a MIGHTY God!

Whatever is troubling you today, let The Lord handle it for you. There is nothing that God cannot fix. We just have to:

  1. continue to stay focused on the joy that the Holy Spirit graciously provides.
  2. Work on our patience
  3. Be faithful in prayer through it all. (Romans 12:12) ❤️

During the crucial moments of my day, I think about the BLISSFUL moment when we as a family (God’s children) will enter the pearly gates of Heaven. Into the open arms of our Lord and Savior. Surrounded by His splendor and love.

This world will be no more. All of the excruciating memories containing the misfortunes and pains that the fleshly world provides; will be a demolished.

  • Keep a smile on your face.
  • Pray for those around you.
  • LOVE those around you.

You never know what they are facing as well.

Keep your heart, mind and soul focused on the Lord. It WILL work out for your good!
